Local police will control the misuse of parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities (29/04/2016)

The Department of Public Safety, through the local police, will launch a campaign to control the use of parking facilities reserved for people with disabilities due to continuous complaints received by the irregular occupation of these places, as reported by the Councillor, Francisco Aznar.

The City of Cartagena is responsible for granting these cards, which reach the nearly 1,200, with the number of these parking lots in the city of 250 seats.

The problem comes for claims because they are used by vehicles that lack the perceptual card or even taking it, the vehicle is not occupied by the disabled person.

Thus, the municipal police will begin in the coming days traffic control will entail the following complaints:

- In the event that the vehicle is in the parking lot for people with disabilities, clearly marked, lacks parking card, it will be reported with a fine of 200 euros and removed with the crane to impound vehicles.

- In the event that the vehicle parked in the parking lot for people with disabilities, clearly marked, take card but it is found that the requirements of use set are breached Article 6 of Royal Decree 1056/2014, of 12 December, the basic conditions of issue and use of parking card for people with disabilities, and Article 4.2.1 of the Municipal Ordinance regulating the granting of this card and its adaptation to Community model are regulated, will be reported by a fine of 80 euros, will be removed with the crane to impound vehicles and will be operated on the card.
