The regional government committed to economic and social growth in Cartagena with a rise of almost five percent in the budgets (18/04/2016)

The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo said in his meeting today with the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, regional budgets in 2016 allocated a total of 516 million euros in loans identified for the region of Cartagena , "which is an increase of 4.86 percent over the previous year".

Andrés Carrillo stressed the value of Cartagena has for the regional government "as it is and will remain a focal point of economic, social and cultural development, as it constitutes an important hub where outstanding infrastructure are located in the health, education, estate field and business ".

He also recalled that the regional government "works for regional economic growth through support for the industry and the tourism sector, basic industries and highlighted in this region."

Carrillo said the mayor to "collect significant expenditure budgets in all areas and lines of work of the regional government, as well as investments of 2.5 million euros in educational infrastructure, 2.6 million for roads, 39 million for the Polytechnic University Cartagena or 1.4 million to the Roman Theatre ".

Therefore, he added, "these are the figures in the budget, correct and verifiable".

Moreover, the Minister expressed support for the proposal of Cartagena mayor of maintaining a technical dialogue to work on the budget for 2017, "but always with a global vision," he said Carrillo, "in order to prioritize basic services Education, Health and Social Services throughout the regional level. "
