Francisco Calderon attended the charity dinner APU in which Cartagena planted childhood cancer battle (14/04/2016)

The area councilor Quality of Life, Francisco Calderon (MC), attended last Saturday at the charity dinner that annually celebrates the Pablo Ugarte (APU) Association to raise funds for childhood cancer.

The event, which this year celebrated its fifth edition, held at the Naval Officers Club Cartagena and was enlivened by the 'Da Vinci' group.

420 people wanted to participate in an endearing event that served to raise an outstanding amount it will go entirely aimed at sixteen research teams and projects that Pablo Ugarte Association supports in different hospitals in Spain.

Calderon reaffirmed the commitment of the municipal government's attention to the most vulnerable groups, in this case, children, reiterating the support of the local executive in promoting research to fight, since the powers and limitations of each cancer pediatric.

In Spain they are annually about 1,200 children who suffer from some form of cancer.

APU is an association created to support and help cancer research, especially childhood cancer.

In addition it is configured as an entity designed to help and collaborate in different ways with children and families who have to suffer this disease.

At present, it has 1978 members.

The association offers those interested in working, doing so in various ways: from the financial contribution, purchasing items from the APU, participation or organization of charity events, etc.

Any sum to get help eradicate childhood cancer.
