Civil Defense and Red Cross veiled by procesionistas and the public during Holy Week (29/03/2016)

Capirote dress, carry a hachote or a stick for several kilometers or go portapasos carrying a throne may lead some potential difficulties or health problems.

Therefore, on the occasion of the Easter holiday, the streets of Cartagena have been occupied by a special device of Civil Defense and Red Cross to assist those who have required a team of about 30 people each day .

Martin Toledo, coordinator of Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena, explained that most cases they have had to intervene have been fainting, in total about 30 or 35 people, both children and adults.

Moreover, not only they have had to serve the procesionistas own but also citizens who watched, since many public thronged and high temperatures were experienced.

In addition, Toledo commented that had to attend a man on the street San Miguel due to a heart attack while enjoying the procession of Easter Sunday, which remains stable and a child at home on Friday.

Thus, as commented the mayor of Cartagena, Jose Lopez, in his gaze towards the Holy Week this year, the balance has been positive and there have been no serious incidents.
