The president of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, attended today in Cartagena Mass to mark the day of the patron saint, the Virgin of Charity, and the subsequent offering of the 'ounce of gold'.
Pedro Antonio Sanchez said that "today is a special day for Cartagena and for all who work for it," noting that the feast of the patron saint of the city is "a day of unity, fellowship, tribute, recognition and support our identity, traditions and culture. "
He recalled that last year, and as Minister of Culture, was in Cartagena a day like today and said that it is now as president but in any case, "always next to Cartagena."
After Mass, the president also attended the offering to the Virgin of the 'ounce of gold' to contribute to the work of the hospital of Charity, a tradition that dates back to 1762 and which now symbolizes the delivery of a donation .
