According to the municipal officers they have gone to the mayor, in order that the supply of drinking water established by a precise rate of adaptation and processing the medium term.

Regarding the change in water pricing, Lopez said that the decision is taken.

We are convinced that Cartagena should lead this historic change for municipalities, and thereby citizens, regain the initiative in establishing the rate of drinking water.

The mayor went on to explain that since 2012 started to demand this change, I have been aware of the difficulty.

Lawyers and technical advisers always exposed me that most of the articles and studies are sponsored by multinationals and to abound in the rate of these, looking consummate the imposition of price by the concessionaire.

The complexity of the issue involved, in the words of the mayor, the need for what we walk this path together with other municipalities and the Autonomous Community itself, especially in a region where water shortages, price and other issues around it is such a sensitive historical and current problem.

The mayor of Cartagena, taking advantage of his presence today in the Council ask the regional government regional government that contributes to the city of Cartagena and other towns in the CARM in the technical work necessary to implement the charges for water supply.

We want to devote their efforts to the achievement of this measure for the benefit of citizens and not to approve, from the regional administration, the rates proposed by the concessionaires.

In any case, Lopez has clarified that, in this process, must not take even one misstep, and that must be collected all the reports that are necessary, why I will send this week a letter to the president of the Spanish Federation municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) to notify the intention of our City to lead the implementation of the law for the benefit of citizens.

I will ask to organize in our town, in partnership with us, some inter and interadministraciones on the implementation of the fee for the provision of potable water house days.

A meeting in which formulas and development of ordinances and procedural mechanisms needed to be addressed.

Finally, the councilor added that as vice president of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region, also bring the matter to the deliberations of government, hoping that, in a few dates, which today is a commitment a reality for all citizens .
