Over a hundred students UPCT by the internship program offered by multinational Hitachi Europe are interested (15/02/2016)

"Languages ​​are very important for a company like Hitachi".

Javier Hernandez, an alumnus of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) and engineer of the Department of Quality Assurance for Europe Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCME), not repeating students the importance of knowing more than one language to work in this company.

Hernandez, who also began as an intern at Hitachi, has been in charge of receiving the hundreds of students from the School of Industrial Engineering of the UPCT have been interested in the internship program of Hitachi Europe, this morning.

Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCME) continues to focus on collaboration with the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) UPCT through the second edition of its internship program for students at its facilities in the Netherlands.

This company is located in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and is the only seat of the machinery manufacturing division of Hitachi multinational in Europe.

During the talk, Hernandez showed attendees through a video to which the company is engaged as well as pictures of Quality team of the company.

He has started his career in this company just over four years through being of Erasmus University in the Netherlands.

"Through the university contacted Hitachi, practice and then I had a position in the company, and I introduced myself caught," he explains.

The engineer explained to students that the practices will take place in Amsterdam, where the company is headquartered.

They begin in April, completed in September and will be equipped with a monthly salary of 350 euros plus shipping, which would make about 500 euros or so.

However, he stressed to them the importance of having a good level of languages, because "it is an international company."

In this regard, he stressed that in the company there is "more than 40 nationalities," so that employees have a thorough knowledge of English to communicate.

Acknowledges that when he started as an intern at Hitachi knew English, but had no great mastery of technical vocabulary, which is something we do could acquire during its passage by the company.

"The main thing is to learn languages, not only to work in this company, but for anyone," he said while adding that technically the students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena "They are more than ready."

According to him, in other countries there is a greater tendency towards specialization, while at the University of Cartagena to prepare students to have a broader knowledge of each area.

"I was lucky to make the practice and final thesis in Germany and eventually looked for something in the region to continue in this field," he explains.
