Fabián Martínez Juárez will be named on Thursday Cartagenero of the Year 2009 (29/06/2010)

Thursday, July 1, will be the appointment of Fabian Martinez Juarez as Cartagenero of the Year 2009 in recognition of his role as president of the Association of People with Parkinson and his role at the head of ADAS which every year organizes a tribute to Absent of Cartagena.

Fabián Martínez Juárez is the thirty-ninth Cartagenero of the Year since the award was instituted in 1971.

The jury chaired by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and composed of the directors of the Centre for Tourism Initiatives in Cartagena, which convenes annually this award in cooperation with the City of Cartagena, Amat and Juan Tomás de Haro, the councilors of Tourism and Culture, Rosario Herrero and Javier Montero, the official chronicler of Cartagena, José Monerri, the prize last year, María José Puerto, and representatives of the media in the city, elected Fabián Martínez Juárez was born in Cartagena in 1938, among the different nominated by associations, organizations and citizens.

With the award the jury wanted to recognize the work of Fabian Martinez Juarez throughout his life.
