[Molinos Marfagones renews its infrastructures with an investment of about 70,000 euros (17/05/2021)

| The mayor visited the area this Monday, accompanied by the president of the Neighborhood Board and representatives of the different groups of the county council | The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has visited this morning, Monday, May 17, the La Magdalena council to check the results of the different works that have been carried out in the area throughout the current legislature.

During the visit, Castejón has been accompanied by the president of the Neighborhood Council, Antonio Bernal; the vice president, Antonio Martínez; the vocal, Enriqueta Bernal, and representatives of different groups in the area. In total, around 70,000 euros have been invested in improving the infrastructures of Molinos Marfagones, Pozo Los Palos, La Magdalena and Los Puertos de Arriba, where new squares and playgrounds have been built, as well as a bowling alley. “Despite the pandemic and the crisis that we are experiencing, the Molinos Marfagones Neighborhood Board has set to work to improve the infrastructure of this county council, with the support and backing of the Cartagena City Council.

These works will also contribute to promoting leisure, social relations and outdoor activity ”, stated the mayor. Specifically, the Pozo de Los Palos playground has been renovated, with a budget of 6,640.48 euros; the Puerto Leda square in Molinos Marfagones, with 18,055.62 euros; the children's playground in Los Puertos de Arriba, with 7,100.16 euros; the Plaza de la Ermita and the children's area of ??La Magdalena, with 5,423.22 euros and 6,843.76 euros; and another 6,000 euros in children's games in different places. During the tour, they visited the Bowling Game, which has also been recently renovated and has had a budget of 18,146.60 euros, to which must be added 1,500 euros from the Safety Plan and the mural, made by José María Vidal with whom they have paid tribute to the 'Passing the ball' program, which since 2016 they develop jointly between the Neighborhood Council and the Neighborhood Association, with the aim of spreading the game of bowling among the little ones. The mayor thanked the president of the Neighborhood Council, Antonio Bernal, “and all the team that accompanies you, for the magnificent work you are doing to improve the lives of our neighbors and coexistence in our towns.
