[The Local Police files 144 complaints for failing to comply with the rules to prevent contagion (18/01/2021)

| During the past weekend, 52 checkpoints were installed in Cartagena in which the agents supervised 1,258 vehicles | Members of the Cartagena Local Police have filed a total of 144 complaints this weekend for non-compliance with current regulations to reduce the COVID 19 infection curve. It should be noted that most of the sanctions are due to non-compliance with measures that citizens have been living with for months, such as the mandatory use of a mask, perimeter confinement or a curfew. Specifically, 39 complaints have been filed for not wearing the mask, 32 for driving non-cohabiting people in vehicles without wearing the mask, 13 for breaching the perimeter confinement and 20 for skipping the curfew. The Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Torralba, has once again called for responsibility.

â € œWe are clear that this situation is taking too long, but we are in the worst spike of infections that we have had since the beginning of the pandemic and we cannot relax now.

The numbers of infected and deceased are not a joke and the measures that have been adopted are not a game either.

We must be responsible and do everything in our power to avoid greater evils, ”he said. As for the rest, 31 people have been sanctioned for congregating in groups among non-cohabitants, 3 for meeting several non-cohabitants in a private home and 6 for various establishments that provided catering services on the premises. In addition, during the weekend the Local Police installed 52 controls in which the agents supervised 1,258 vehicles.
