| The City Council has removed the existing vegetation in poor condition and in its place three thousand units of native plants have been placed | The Infrastructure Area of ??the Cartagena City Council has reconditioned the green areas of a good part of the promenade located between the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse and the Levante Beach, which was quite degraded, with dry vegetation and some points of invasive exotic vegetation. Thus, the existing vegetation has been selectively cleared and, subsequently, the planting of three thousand units of native plant, from authorized nurseries for the production of this type of vegetation.

These are forest socket plants, with species such as tamarix, juniperus, nerium oleander or flower laurel, crithmum maritimum or marine parsley, lotus creticus or sea horn, periploca angustifolia or cornical, anthillis cystoides and chamaerops humilis, mï ¿½s known as palmetto or dwarf palm. According to the Delegate Councilor for Tourism, Cristina P�rez, this initiative aims to naturalize and revegetate an urbanized space with native shrub plant, which has better endurance and needs fewer hï resources.
