[The Three Wise Men arrive in Cartagena (04/01/2021)

| Despite the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Three Wise Men will not miss the annual appointment with the boys and girls of the city | The Magi from the East have already arrived in Cartagena.

For yet another year, and despite the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Their Majesties did not want to miss their annual appointment with the boys and girls of Cartagena, which they have adapted to the current situation. Thus, this Monday they arrived in the city, where they have been received by the mayor, Ana Bel n Castej n; the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo; the deputy mayor, Manuel Pad n; the councilor of V a P blica and Festejos, Juan Pedro Torralba; and the Councilor for Culture, Youth and Equality, David Mart nez Noguera . After this reception, the municipal officials have accompanied Their Majesties to the premises set up by the Cartagena City Council on the Muralla del Mar Campus to receive the children and families who will visit them this Monday and Tuesday in the enclosure that will have special lighting and different atmospheres and Christmas-themed stations. Access to these facilities, which can be entered by appointment, will be through Adarve de Artiller a street, at the corner of Rosario Juaneda street, next to the monument to the Eagle Patrol.

Minors visiting the Three Kings must do so accompanied by an adult. In this sense, the mayor has asked the people of Cartagena responsibility during accesses and visits, so that all health security measures are respected, and that, as far as possible, a single adult is who accompanies the children, so that the capacity is not exceeded. Last week, the City Council enabled an online system through the municipal website to request prior appointments, an essential requirement to enjoy this activity.

Due to the great demand for reservations that the initiative had, which caused the places to be exhausted in a few hours, the Consistory decided to expand the number of places allowing new shifts, with the aim that the largest number of people could attend.

"The initiative will extend throughout the day tomorrow, Tuesday, and will end with a fireworks display just when Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will go out to distribute their presents to the homes of the municipality," recalled Ana Bel n Castej n. In addition, points have been set up for the delivery of the letters of the minors to the Magi, so that the children of Cartagena can send their requests to Their Majesties in time so that, at dawn on January 5 , they can take home the gifts they ask for in their letters. It should be remembered that the mayor issued a special municipal ruling for Their Majesties and Santa Claus, which allowed them to bypass the perimeter confinement and the curfew in order that they can reach all homes this Christmas and deliver presents to Cartagena families. "This year the children of Cartagena have shown exemplary behavior and with this initiative they will be able to see the Three Wise Men closely and make their requests, maintaining all health security measures," said the mayor. The activity is subject to current health regulations, respecting at all times the capacity, safety distance, use of a mask and hand hygiene, at the same time that any person who presents symptoms associated with the Covid-19.
