[The City Council demands that the Commercial Court number 3 be opened in Cartagena (17/12/2020)

| The Plenary Assembly demands that it be in operation in the first quarter of 2021 | The Plenary of the Cartagena City Council has demanded this Thursday, December 17, the Ministry of Justice to install the Commercial Court number 3 in Cartagena during the first quarter of 2021 and that it have a regional character, such and How the ministry was committed to the professional and business groups and to the council itself. According to the mayor, Ana Bel n Castej n, "we are going to present an institutional declaration to raise the political consensus to the Ministry, the support of the entire society of Cartagena and what was agreed in the Mesa de Justice". In this institutional statement it appears that the situation of the judicial infrastructures in Cartagena is, at the very least, deficient, obsolete and insufficient, something that the City Council and the Cartagena society have been denouncing for years and, therefore, they have repeatedly requested solutions. In addition, the opening of a Commercial Court has been highly demanded not only by Cartagena but also by all neighboring municipalities including the judicial district of Cartagena, as well as by the business sector and judicial groups. Likewise, the statement highlights that waiting six more months for its start-up seems an unjustified delay, once the adequate facilities are available for its installation in the Palacio de Molina, where some works are required.

basic that can be executed in a short period of time.

"There can be no excuse that delays the start-up of the Commercial Court in Cartagena, it must be number three and have a regional character," said Castej n. The Ministry of Justice is obliged, like all administrations, to meet the contracting deadlines, but this does not mean that they cannot be expedited due to an emergency situation, such as the one experienced by our Judicial Party. The institutional declaration also points out that it does not make sense that with two Commercial Courts already in the city of Murcia it is decided that the third in the Region, which will be opened due to the repeated demands that have been made since Cartagena, is also installed in Murcia, relegating the fourth to our city and on top of that, its opening is left for the second half of the year. The Cartagena City Council has sought the property for the provisional opening of this facility, at no cost to the Ministry of Justice, when the ministry occupies its own premises in the city of Murcia and in other municipalities it rents, at its own cost, real estate for judicial facilities. From Cartagena all the facilities have been offered so that neighbors and businessmen can count on this much-needed Court.
