[The 1.5% Cultural grant will allow the completion of the archaeological excavation of the grandstand, the podium and part of the arena of the Amphitheater (15/12/2020)

| The implementation of this project will respond to one of the most pressing demands of Cartagena in the framework of its Strategic Projects of Historical-Artistic Heritage | The third and fourth phase of the archaeological excavation of the Roman Amphitheater is already assured.

The granting of the 750,000 euro subsidy from the Ministry of Development, in charge of 1.5% Cultural, will allow the execution of the new project that has been drawn up by the Heritage Area of ??the Cartagena City Council, which seeks to complete the intervention End of the southeastern quadrant of the entertainment building, which will facilitate the opening of the monument to the public, as well as its consolidation in the current urban fabric and whose budget is estimated at one million euros. In this sense, a circular route has been defined that will allow visitors to walk along the major and minor axes of the monument, contemplating the grandstand. It should be remembered that since the arrival of Ana Bel n Castej na to the Mayor of Cartagena, the first two phases of recovery of this deposit have been carried out and the budget for the next two has been achieved.

The objective of the Government team is the integration of the Amphitheater in the urban fabric, connecting it with the cultural routes of the city, as well as in the university life that daily takes place in the environment in which it is located.
