Muñoz recalled that "we were the first port within the Spanish port system to implement an environmental quality management system, but we also wanted to focus on social aspects to become the most sustainable port in the Mediterranean.

To do this, it has provided management tools that combine economic development and job creation with environmental protection, the fight against climate change and social welfare.

The president thanked all the signatory organizations for their willingness to collaborate to "create a true network to promote participation, exchange knowledge and create opportunities for collaboration" and encouraged all organizations and institutions that are part of the Port Community to be part of this commitment to the Sustainable Development of the port of Cartagena.
