The traditional community day Acci n Global Ciudadana held its VI edition this Saturday, December 12, counting as every year with a wide representation of social entities, public administrations and residents of the neighborhoods of Casco Hist rico and Sector Estaci n de Cartagena. The conference is part of the community process that has been promoted since 2014 by the Cartagena City Council, the Cepaim Foundation and the la Caixa Foundation. In this edition it has opted to prepare a commemorative video of the Global Citizen Action to share with neighbors of Cartagena all the experiences throughout these years, and counting, as on every occasion, With its participation and active involvement in the life of the neighborhood and the municipality, in this way it contributes to the construction of the sense of identity and fundamental belonging for the cultural enrichment and social cohesion of the neighborhoods of the municipality. More than 20 entities, public and private institutions linked to these neighborhoods have been part of the Global Citizen Actions since 2015.

Participation in this meeting shows the progress of this Intercultural Community Process in the neighborhood of Historic Center and Station Sector. WHAT IS THE ICI PROJECT? The Intercultural Community Intervention Project (ICI), promoted in 36 neighborhoods in Spain in collaboration with different administrations and social entities, is a social action initiative with a preventive orientation and that encourages intercultural relations, favors social cohesion and aims to empower society in favor of coexistence and community development of their territories.

In Cartagena, the ICI Project has been carried out since July 2014 through the collaboration of the Cartagena City Council and the Cepaim Foundation.
