[More than 1,500 people participate in Cartagena in a project to raise awareness about sustainable development in neighborhood businesses (13/12/2020)

| The Ministry of Transparency allocated 8,000 euros to the Cepaim Foundation to promote development values ??and alleviate situations of inequality in the world and in local areas of action | The regional government, through the Department of Transparency, Participation and Public Administration, promoted during this year the project 'Advancing In-Key 2030 for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) within the framework of the 2030 Agenda in the municipality of Cartagena ', managed by the Fundaci n Cepaim Acci n Integral con Migrantes.

The project, developed in the first quarter until the start of the pandemic, focused on advancing the socio-educational work line to strengthen the network of small neighborhood businesses.

Specifically, premises in the neighborhoods of San Antonio de Abad, Urbanizaci n Mediterr neo, the historic center and Station Sector, and the municipalities of El Albuj ny Miranda were covered.

The director general of Open Government and Cooperation, David Martínez, explained that "the objective of this project was based on raising awareness of the values ??of sustainable development, making known the goals of the 2030 Agenda established by the UN , to alleviate situations of inequality in the world and in local areas ".

The Community allocated 8,000 euros to this new edition of the Cepaim Foundation project that was based on three phases: The first was the 'Training and reflection' about the SDGs and the development of action From the local level with a global vision.

For the development of this, we worked with the United Nations document 'Education for the SDGs.

Learning objectives'.

The second phase was that of 'Knowledge', focused on disseminating the contents of the 17 SDGs and, finally, in the 'Dissemination' phase, an awareness campaign of responsible commercial activity was developed, starring by participating businesses, which became local agents of change and transformation promoting responsible consumption models.

Through this initiative, around 1,520 people benefited, including owners of small and medium-sized businesses of a local nature, managers of business associations of the municipality, the neighborhood of selected neighborhoods and councils, technicians of entities who work with children and adolescents in the different neighborhoods of the port city, minors between 6 and 11 years old and adolescents between 12 and 16 years old, as a reflection of the cultural diversity of the municipality.
