The 1st UCAM Nativity Scene contest seeks to encourage small and medium businesses in Cartagena (30/11/2020)

| Merchants with an establishment open to the public in Cartagena who exhibit a nativity scene will be eligible for three cash prizes | The Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), based in Cartagena, with the collaboration of the Cartagena City Council, launches its first Nativity Scene contest in the shop windows of Cartagena, as well as in all families in the town, with the aim of to encourage small and medium businesses in the Cartagena area, in addition to promoting the creation of Nativity scenes and the participation of groups and citizens."We encourage merchants and citizens to join this contest and help to enjoy Christmas this year more than ever," said the councilor for commerce, Manuel Padín.For his part, José Acuña, the director of institutional relations of UCAM Cartagena, explained the bases of the contest, which consists of two modalities.

On the one hand, the modality of traditional shop window nativity scenes, to which merchants with an establishment open to the public in Cartagena who display one or more shop windows or showcases, may be presented, having to be framed within the scope of the Christmas holidays, and on the other The modality of particular traditional Nativity scenes, which will be chosen by any person or family unit, resident in Cartagena, who publishes their photo or video of the Nativity scene on the agreed dates, on their Facebook and Twitter social networks, and uses the hashtag # YoPongoelBelén , in addition to naming or labeling the UCAM Campus of Cartagena.According to the rules of the contest, all Nativity scenes must have several fixed scenes: Birth, Magi, Annunciation and Adoration of the Shepherds.

They will also have minimum dimensions of 70 centimeters wide by 50 deep.Regarding merchants interested in participating, they will register until December 6 through the registration form link.The jury's decision will be public on January 3, through UCAM's social networks as well as on its website.

The award of the private category will be announced on December 22 also by the same media.
