| The Cartagena City Council has approved to advance the subsidy that will allow each one to carry out projects worth 3,548 euros | The Department of Education of the City of Cartagena has achieved the participation of 31 schools and public institutes of the municipality, in the second edition of the Participatory Budgets focused on educational centers.The Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, recalled that “once again, the main objective of this call is to encourage active participation in public policies among children and young people, since they will have to propose and decide with their votes which are the projects in which they want to invest in their own centers ”.In the 2019/2020 academic year, a total of 6,400 students joined this project and, for this academic year, it has been decided to extend the offer to all public centers of Infant and Primary education and those of Secondary, obtaining an affirmative response from more than half of them.Irene Ruiz explained that "in the 2020 municipal budgets there is an item of 110,000 euros reserved to develop the second edition of this initiative and that it has been chosen to make an equitable distribution, so that each center will receive a total of 3,548 euros" .In the Local Government Board held this morning, November 27, it has been approved to advance the subsidy.
The centers must carry out the projects between the second and third quarters of this academic year and present the justification before September 30, together with a report that accredits the activity, the results of the voting and the support material that the students have used.PARTICIPATING CENTERS1.
