MC will request the adherence of the Plenary to his complaint to the regional government for the abandonment of construction waste in the head of San Ginés (22/11/2020)

The Cartagena formation will also demand that the Government implement the prohibition of road traffic in the Castle of the Moors Next Thursday, November 26, the ordinary session of the municipal plenary session in November will take place.

During it, MC Cartagena will defend various initiatives of interest to the municipality in terms of heritage. Among them, the councilor of MC Cartagena, María Dolores Ruiz, has advanced that the Cartagena formation will encourage the local government to "denounce before the General Directorate of Natural Environment the abandonment of construction material in the open in the head of San Ginés ". "From MC we have already denounced this situation before the Autonomous Community and now we will seek the support of the rest of the groups in case the opening of a sanctioning file that delimits the responsibility of the company and the immediate reestablishment of current legislation should proceed," explained the mayor. Ruiz recalled that "in September 2018 the rehabilitation works of the so-called Ermita de los Ángeles on Mount Miral began, after a long administrative file dotted by numerous breaches of the firm resolutions of the General Directorate of Cultural Assets by the Mercantile Portman Golf, while in December 2018, the property paralyzed the works, leaving a large amount of construction waste in the environment, something that represents an obvious risk as we have verified ". Arguing the proposal has shown that "the head of San Ginés is part of the SCI of Open Spaces and Islands of the Mar Menor, providing this hill with a double protection, both cultural and environmental", also citing that Law 3/2020, of July 27, recovery and protection of the Mar Menor requires a report, both from the Ministry of Natural Environment, which will include preventive and corrective measures against the impacts on the landscape, and from the Ministry responsible for heritage matters. Traffic around the Castle of the Moors On the other hand, the councilor of MC has advanced that the local government will be exhorted to "place a sign informing citizens of the prohibition of road traffic in the surroundings of the Castle of the Moors, except for emergency vehicles, incurring an infraction who fails to comply with it ". María Dolores Ruiz explained that with this initiative it is intended to fight against the attacks that this monument is suffering, the Platform in Defense of the Castle of the Moors having transferred a similar request during the Heritage Advisory Council on November 5 to prohibit the road access to the Castle of the Moors and, thus, prevent further looting.
