El Molinete launches new informative posters (16/11/2020)

| The new panels, which contain images and information in Spanish and English, have been distributed from the top of the hill to Balcones Azules street | The Cartagena City Council has already completed the installation of the new informative signage for the Windlass.

The new panels, which run through different points of historical and tourist interest, have been placed from the top of the hill to Balcones Azules street, where the Roman Forum is located. The posters, which in all cases follow the same aesthetics, show images and graphic reconstructions of the site as well as historical and anecdotal information about the area, in different languages, to facilitate their understanding both for the residents of Cartagena who want to know more details about the history of the city and for national and international tourists who visit it.Thus, the new posters have been installed to replace previous posters that required a renovation, either because the latest discoveries at the site had made the information content out of date, or because weather adversities or certain acts of vandalism had damaged them.Specifically, the 10 new posters have been installed on the previous bases and at the same points: the mill at the top of El Molinete, the San Cristóbal mill, the Roman wall, the wall of Felipe II, the wall of Carlos I, the Roman Forum (where two have been installed), the modern houses of El Molinete, the Republican sanctuary and the Punic-Roman sanctuary of Atargatis."El Molinete now shows off the new posters with which we will be able to learn, in a pleasant and rigorous way, the history of this emblematic enclave of our city in which our ancestors of different civilizations have lived", highlighted the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón."These new posters were necessary since several of them were damaged and, in addition, by containing information in both Spanish and English, they will allow tourists who visit us in the future to continue to marvel at discovering the history of our city", has underlined the mayor.
