FICC 49 offers more than 60 films that can be seen from home (12/11/2020)

The FICC49 edition will be held online, during the week of November 22-28, with the screening of more than 60 films, including long and short, film encounters and a workshop on the reappropriation of home cinema.

Most of the programming can be seen on FILMIN, and sometimes also on Vimeo and YouTube. The presentation took place this Thursday, November 11 by the Councilor for Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martínez Noguera; the President of the FICC, Ignacio Ros Pérez; and the director of the FICC, Esther Baeza Navarro, who have highlighted the most important aspects of the programming.“The FICC is the film festival in Cartagena and in the Region of Murcia.

It is the moment in which we can see in our city the best of international and national filmography, and enjoy parallel activities for all tastes and ages ”, said the Councilor for Culture. In addition, the mayor has assured that “the city is proud to have the oldest film festival in the region and one of the oldest in Spain, but this year, due to the situation, the FICC has had to reinvent itself and sacrificing part of their presence to make an edition totally online ”.Being an online version, this year the festival will reach more people and the shorts presented in competition will be able to be seen throughout Spain.

"We have thought that this year, so domestic, it deserved for us to turn it into a cinema, and for this reason we have made a small video tribute to domestic cinema and the Europa.doc section", explained Esther Baeza.

The poster is also based on this idea, since "the image is taken from a film in the celluloid memory archive."The president of the FICC, Nacho Ros, has highlighted the parallel activities, and recalled that "although the festival has not been possible in person, all the activities that have been adapted will be carried out online." These activities are the meetings "between Miguel Alcantud, Alfonso Albacete and Manuela Burló Moreno", "The year of discovery", "Murcine", "Reappropriation of Domestic Films" and the workshop on Reappropriation of Online Home Cinema.HOW TO WATCH FICC FILMS?If you are a Filmin user, you will be able to access all the festival's content from your regular user account from your account, otherwise the FICC ONLINE page offers different options. CLOSUREThe closure will take place on November 28 at 8:00 p.m.
