The works of the new residence are progressing at the expected rate and are maintaining their completion date (05/11/2020)

The remodeling of the old administrative building of the Cartagena City Council in Plaza Sor Francisca Armendáriz, which is going to become the new university residence of the UPCT, is progressing at the expected pace after the first five months of work, according to the report sent by the company awarded, MiCampus, to the Polytechnic of Cartagena, whose rector, Beatriz Miguel, visited the works today accompanied by the president of the Regional Assembly, Alberto Castillo.The works began in July and have an execution period of 18 months, although the intention of the company is not to exhaust this period and that the new residence can open its doors to students at the beginning of the 2021-22 academic year.

The current main residence building, Alberto Colao, belongs to the Regional Assembly and will be used for the offices of the parliamentary groups.The report on the progress of the works highlights that the masonry work inside the facilities and on the facades is advanced in relation to planning, since the adaptation of openings for the new windows and the demolition of structures and structures have already been carried out.
