| Social Services supervises the creation of neighborhood groups that manage information and resources against contagion | The Covid Social Intervention Network has already helped 30 families with financial difficulties to keep the quarantine established by the health authorities for positive Covid or for contact with positives of any of its members.

There are 127 people, 72 of them minors, and they are part of the main objective of this group created by the City Council, the Health Area and the Federation of Neighbors.

The purpose of these actions is "to cut the chains of contagion between people who, due to their cultural or economic conditions, are at greater risk of becoming vectors of contagion due to lack of information or means to follow the recommendations for COVID control" The deputy mayor and head of the Social Care area, Noelia Arroyo, has explained.Arroyo has participated this morning in the meeting of the technical group that coordinates the Covid Social Intervention Network created three weeks ago.

The group has established protocols to respond quickly when health professionals, neighbors or social entities detect situations of risk of contagion. The Covid Network is also activating community action units in neighborhoods, starting with those with a more complex health situation.

“These groups operate in the Peral and San Antón neighborhoods and work is being done to set them up in Pozo Estrecho, Los Dolores and El Algar; although the intention of the team is to extend this network throughout the municipality ”, said the deputy mayor.“Our Social Services professionals coordinate the associations and entities that work in each neighborhood to disseminate information and detect risk situations.

In each territory we rely on the people and entities who best know the communities and groups that are more difficult to carry through the usual means of communication.

The health situation is critical and we have to put more guarantees to cut the infections ”, Arroyo explained. The Social Services, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, are adapting materials to inform each sector of the population in the registry and by the most appropriate means.
