The new official master's degree in Industry 4.0 opens registrations after the approval of ANECA (04/11/2020)

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) opens this Friday, November 6, an extraordinary period of pre-enrollment in its new official master's degree in Industry 4.0, which has just been approved by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA).

The registration period ends on November 16 and registration can be made between the 27th and 27th of this month. The title, one of the few postgraduate courses in Spain specialized in the digital transformation of the Industry and with public prices, will be taught from December in a blended format, with classes broadcast via streaming and face-to-face practices, unless the epidemiological situation worsens.A collaborative robotic arm, designed to work side by side with manual operators thanks to its control systems to prevent accidents, is one of the most powerful equipment with which the master's students will practice.

"It is a revolutionary advance for the industry, which no longer has to cage robots, but rather repetitive tasks can be programmed for them to perform together with workers", explains the coordinator of the Master, Antonio Guerrero, highlighting the investment made in a model of a reference brand in industrial robotics.Process control equipment, intelligent industrial plant simulators, IoT programming devices and additive manufacturing 3D printers are also part of the instruments that the master's students will use and with which the UPCT School of Industrialists has been equipped to train its students in the technologies that improve competitiveness and efficiency in companies. "The master will have a very practical approach and will teach how to handle the tools that professionals from various sectors need to be able to adapt to the digital transformation that will mark the coming years, and that our graduates must know to be able to successfully access this important field of the labor market ”, highlights Guerrero."This title will allow training in all the tools that are included in the field of industry 4.0, such as autonomous robotics, augmented reality, process simulation, additive manufacturing, big data, cloud computing, cybersecurity, vertical and horizontal integration, internet of things and business model in Industry 4.0 ”, explains Patricio Franco, director of the School of Industrials of the UPCT. The students of the new master's degree will also be able to benefit from the numerous collaboration agreements for the realization of internships in companies that the Polytechnic of Cartagena has and from the extra opportunities offered by the companies that make up the Network of Chairs of Technological Companies of the UPCT through scholarships for R + D + i activities and awards for the best end of studies projects.
