The Plenary second to MC to demand that the administrations that the new Commercial Court, already approved, be established in Cartagena (29/10/2020)

| The local government, obliged to demand that the regional government sign the agreement for the development of the ZAL of Cartagena | This morning the ordinary plenary session for the month of October took place at the Cartagena City Council.

During the session, our training has defended fifty initiatives in areas such as justice, security, financing, infrastructure, tourism or heritage. Commercial Court Thus, MC Cartagena has obtained the support of the Plenary in the motion defended by the mayor Jesús Giménez to demand that the new Commercial Court, as well as the Civil Court that have already been approved, be installed immediately in the judicial district of Cartagena. Thus, as explained by the Cartagena deputy spokesperson, the state government is urged to maintain the location of the Commercial Court No.

3 in the judicial district of Cartagena, as well as to set up the Court of First Instance No.

7, requiring the firm commitment of the regional and local governments, the latter administration being the one who must provide the Ministry with all the locations of municipal property that have been raised in the Justice Table. It should be remembered that it was MC the formation who denounced, on September 29, that the Governing Council agreed to "report favorably on the creation of a Commercial Court in the Region", whose judicial unit will be located "specifically in the judicial party of Murcia ", something that was later corrected by pressure from MC, professionals and civil society. During his speech, Jesús Giménez revealed that the budget presented by the Ministry of Justice does not contemplate the opening of the units mentioned, "so it will be necessary to continue the fight." Signing of the agreement for the development of the ZAL by the regional government The municipal spokesman, José López, has defended a motion that has been approved to demand from the Governing Council of the Autonomous Community the signing of the agreement between the regional administration, the Cartagena City Council and Sepes, to establish the framework for collaboration in development of the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) of Cartagena, as well as the fulfillment of its commitments of all kinds before the end of 2020. López recalled that in December 2018 the text of the agreement was approved by the SEPES Board of Directors, without the regional government having yet signed it, having transcended "the opposition of the Minister of Business, Industry and Spokesperson to said signature, essentially because it does not want to meet the financial commitment it involves, of around half a million euros. It causes that "the agreement does not come to fruition is one more example of San Esteban's lack of commitment with Cartagena," the Cartagena spokesman has denounced. Regularization of rural roads in the municipality The Plenary has given its approval to the initiative of MC Cartagena to demand that the local government "prepare the set of necessary and precise measures to regularize the total system of roads and rural roads in the municipality", for which it must use "The norms and instruments that ensure compliance with the competences that are attributed to it by law." The mayor Enrique Pérez has pointed out that "daily, more than 4,000 residents suffer from the deficiencies of these roads, being harmed in those basic services of their day to day", highlighting the importance of "turning neighborhood complaints into action and contributing to the comprehensive improvement of the municipal road network of Cartagena ". Protection of the Glass Museum The councilor of MC Cartagena, María Dolores Ruiz, has managed to get the Plenary to demand that local and regional governments "comply with what was agreed in the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage so that the Santa Lucía Glass Museum is protected as a representative manifestation of the Spanish Intangible Heritage, in addition to appearing and showing their support for the file opened by the Ministry of Culture to declare the blown glass technique as a representative manifestation of intangible cultural heritage ". It should be noted that on July 20, 2020, the General Directorate of Fine Arts proceeded to initiate a file for the declaration of the blown glass technique as a representative manifestation of the intangible cultural heritage, the Santa Lucía glass factory itself being cited in the recent initiation from the Ministry of Culture when highlighting that its blown glass factory was one of the most important in Spain until well into the 20th century. Ruiz has indicated that "thanks to the Artisan Association of Glassmakers of Santa Lucía, in Cartagena we have the opportunity to continue transmitting a trade that the initiation tries to protect", which represents an opportunity "to preserve one of the main signs of identity and traditions of the Cartagena neighborhood of Santa Lucía ". Lack of measures against runoff on Avenida del Cantón A joint motion of United We Can and MC has been approved by the Plenary to control the fall of water from the Atalaya mountain to the Concepción neighborhood, reducing or diverting it. The two formations reflect the concern expressed by the residents of the Concepción neighborhood: "The poor condition of the different points of passage and runoff of rainwater that comes down from Mount Atalaya, as well as their age, mean that, on rainy dates torrential, our neighborhood receives a large amount of water ", also understanding that the construction of the new highway on Avenida del Cantón," without previously having solved the problems of lowering the water down the slope of Mount Atalaya, can become a problem in periods of torrential rains, making it easier for rainwater to accumulate in our neighborhood.

" The initiative also calls for updating the sewerage system, increasing the diameter and number of collectors on the Avenida del Cantón highway, as well as implementing solutions that avoid the isolation of the neighborhood due to the construction of this new road. Improvement in road safety in La Aljorra The Plenary has approved MC's proposal in order for the Government to take measures to correct the serious road safety problem that exists at the intersection between Vasco de Gama and Sebastián Caboto de La Aljorra streets. The Cartagena formation includes the concern expressed by the neighbors, to the point that, as José López recalled, there have been "three major accidents at that point in a single month."
