Artisans and manufacturers of musical instruments are the essence of the new poster for Entre Cuerdas y Metales (22/10/2020)

| It has been prepared by the designer Ángel Ronda for the XXIII edition of the Classical Music Contest for Young Performers of the Region | The poster of the XXIII edition of the Classical Music Contest for Young Performers of the Region, Between Strings and Metals, organized by the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, represents the process of making musical instruments and has been developed by designer Ángel Ronda.The councilor for culture, David Martínez, together with the director of the Cartagena Conservatory of Music, María José Castaño and the designer, Ángel Ronda, presented the poster this Thursday, October 22, coinciding with the birth of the Austro-Hungarian composer Franz-Liszt, who is honored in this edition."We commemorate the birth of this romantic composer, virtuoso, pianist, conductor and piano teacher, who was elected by a majority in the votes held last April to decide the composer honored in this edition", said David Martínez, who recalled that "we celebrate his birth with the presentation of the new image of this call for Entre Cuerdas y Metales."With regard to design, "not only does the musician or the instrument be contemplated, but it also delves into the world behind it, that of the construction of sound," explained Ángel Ronda, who has pointed out that "it is about the world of the artisans who create the instruments.

"During the creative process, he had the help of Tomás Amela, head of the Iberpiano music store, and José Antonio Villalba, guitar builder.

“They opened their workshop and let me see their tools, materials and way of working.

All this served as inspiration to develop the poster ”, said the designer.

Therefore, the image shows elements and pieces of the interior of an instrument, which make it possible for music to happen.For her part, María José Castaño pointed out that "there are numerous young people, with fascinating talent, who are eager to participate in this edition of Entre Cuerdas y Metales." In addition, he clarified that "the conservatory is preparing in the best way, taking into account the safety and hygiene conditions."To end the presentation ceremony, a video created to show the creative research process has been viewed.

On the other hand, it has carried out other activities, among which are:On November 14, between strings and metals he presents Entre Mandolinas y Pianos, for the Night of the Museums of Cartagena.On December 17, a farewell to Beethoven on the 250th Anniversary of his birth, since it was precisely that December 17 the day on which he was baptized, with a special streaming program, at the Museum of the Roman Theater, which will feature with a varied repertoire in which former winners, participants and finalists from between strings and brass will participate, such as the pianists: David Cámara Martínez, Ángel Cámara Martínez, Lázaro Fernández Millán, Cristina Sánchez Gómez, and the cellist Miguel Ángel Ros Soto and the violinist Javier Valero Lobato, with the special participation also of the clarinetist Antonio José García Ramón and the cellist Rocío Pinar Lorente, who will perform well-known works such as the Waldstein Sonata or the “Fantasma” Trio, among others.On December 22, the finishing touch will take place, which this year will be a Special Gala at the El Batel Auditorium where, among other musicians, the winning group of Chamber Music from the last edition between strings and brass will participate, composed of the percussionist Mario Muñoz Álvaro and the saxophonist Adrián José Carreto Crespo.
