Serolorological tests for the residents of Alberto Colao (22/10/2020)

The Occupational Risk Prevention Service of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena carries out serological tests for the residents of Alberto Colao today and tomorrow to detect coronavirus antibodies.

The UPCT has cited the 90 students who stay this course in the residence hall.

The tests are voluntary. The course has begun at the Alberto Colao residence with a whole repertoire of safety and hygiene measures to avoid COVID-19 infections, as in the rest of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.The UPCT has already carried out the serological test on more than 600 professors and members of the Administration and Services Staff (PAS).

In addition, the Polytechnic began yesterday the flu vaccination campaign, which this year has been advanced a couple of weeks and which on this occasion is recommended to all staff.The tests detect whether the values ??are positive or negative.

In the case of a positive in COVID-19, the UPCT informs Public Health.

The person who tests positive will be sent to their health center to take the PCR and the University will apply the protocol contemplated in these cases, says the thin COVID, Ana Belén Rodríguez.The Ministry of Employment, Research and Universities has given 2,000 rapid tests to the UPCT. Apart from the test, the UPCT recommends that the entire university community have the Radar Covid application installed and operational on their mobile phones.
