The Ministry of the Environment will begin this year the construction of the five resorts in the Mar Menor, so that the footbridges that were provisionally occupying their place will be installed in new locations to facilitate bathing in five new points of the Cartagena coast, according to has announced the vice mayor and head of the Mar Menor Commission, Noelia Arroyo. The confirmation of the construction has been offered by the councilor himself, Antonio Luengo, in the meeting that they have held this morning, on October 16, with the municipal managers of the riverside town councils and representatives of the different administrations.Arroyo has informed the Commission that municipal technicians have already determined the areas in which they could be located and the hiring of specialized technical assistance is being processed that will specify the installation points that will be proposed to Costas for authorization by Costas.“The construction of spas in the five locations that our footbridges occupy will allow us next year to enjoy ten environmentally-friendly structures on our beaches in the south of the Mar Menor, which will improve bathing, improve access to the sea ??of ??people with reduced mobility and they will add another attraction to our coast ”, explained the vice mayor.ZERO DUMPArroyo has also requested that the commission address the central government to request that the investments provided for in the Plan Vertido Cero del Mar Menor be included in the European Covid-19 Fund.

The deputy mayor recalled that the measures included in the plan have the characteristics of environmental improvements that the funds require and could avoid large economic efforts for the municipalities.Likewise, it has pointed out that the conductivity analyzes carried out at the entrance to the WWTP do not show the presence of leaks from the phreatic, but it is necessary to carry out maintenance, improvement and expansion works of the differentiated rainwater and sanitation networks to better protect the Mar Menor from any type of spill or seepage.
