The Plaza Mayor de Cartagena project will remodel 243,000m² of the seafront of the Port (09/10/2020)

We hope it will be final and value Cartagena, explained Castejón.The project has a clear objective, "to benefit and serve residents and tourists with an embellished, comfortable and fresh space," said Yolanda Muñoz.

The deadlines are three months for the drafting of the execution project, it will be tendered in two to three months, and the nine-month execution will begin.

"In the middle of next year we will be able to see the start of the performance and enjoy the first phase of the Plaza Mayor execution", Yolanda Muñoz has announced.The regional president, López Miras, also appeared at the event, who stated that “Cartagena has to look at the sea and Cartagena people have to find in this maritime heritage an environment to live, enjoy and invest as well.

With this project, what is intended is that this place is one of the reference centers of the city ”.For their part, members of the winning project Plaza Mayor, José Manuel Chacón and Enrique de Andrés, have made a detailed presentation of the project and have shown an explanatory video.DRAFTThe first prize for the best project presented at the Plaza Mayor de Cartagena contest is La ventana del Puerto, whose budget amounts to 28.8 million euros.

Eleven teams were submitted, last June, to the contest of projects of Study of developments of uses and landscape integration in the seafront of Cartagena launched by the Port Authority. Among the novelties is an experimentation space in the urban museum of the Navy and Navigation, the agora in heroes of Santiago de Cuba and Cavite, an information mural in the cruise terminal, a space for exercise called the forest-garden, various underground, and a space for research, conservation and experimentation of marine fauna and flora.
