| The group of volunteers who are part of this municipal program have held a meeting in order to organize this course | The young people who are part of the group of volunteers of the Municipal Program "Cartagena Free of Rumors" have held a first meeting this week to mark the organization and action proposals for this 2020-2021 course.This year the actions will be adjusted to the current socio-sanitary situation caused by Covid-19, an element that will be incorporated into the programming and that will mark the proposed methodology.
This will not be an obstacle for the group, but will be an element that will only influence the materialization of the actions, but not the illusion and motivation that the group projects in each of them.CARTAGENA FREE OF RUMORSCartagena Libre de Rumors is a program promoted in Cartagena since 2017, through the Immigration and Development Cooperation Unit of the Department of Social Services, from which it works to eliminate rumors and false information about the population of immigrant origin, understanding that they are based on stereotypes and prejudices that hinder positive interaction and coexistence in society.Cartagena is part of the Network of Anti-rumor Cities that develop this strategy endorsed by the Council of Europe.Within this program, the volunteer group has a special relevance.
It is made up of boys and girls from Cartagena, of different origins and nationalities, aged between 17 and 25, from which actions are promoted to understand diversity as an enriching element.
