The AEMET issues an orange warning for wind and waves this afternoon and night on the coast of Cartagena (02/10/2020)

| The maximum level of alert for forest fires is also active throughout the day | The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a warning for adverse coastal phenomena on the coast of Cartagena and in the rest of the Region, which will begin at 12:00 hours with the yellow level activated by winds of force 7 and waves of 3 meters.From 2:00 p.m.

the situation will worsen and the orange level will be activated, and there may be waves of up to 4 meters high on the coast until 10:00 p.m., later the yellow level will activate again until 00:00.It is recommended to stay away from the seawalls, beaches, breakwaters and other places close to the coastline, which may be affected by the breaking of the waves and the intensity of the wind; as well as avoiding going out to sail and watching the moorings of the boats.

Nor should vehicles be parked in areas that may be affected by the waves.In addition, the AEMET has issued the red level warning for a very high risk of forest fire scheduled for Friday in Cartagena and throughout the Region of Murcia.

For this reason, the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies and the direction of the Infomur Plan to combat forest fires, have recalled that burning of stubble and pruning is prohibited, as well as making fire in the mountains, even in areas prepared for it.
