Open the period for submitting offers for the management of CATAD (01/10/2020)

| The City Council resumes the tender after correcting technical problems in the specifications, which has a base budget of 740,000 euros and a duration of two years | The Cartagena City Council has resumed bidding for the new Management Contract for the Domestic Animal Reception Center (CATAD), which has a base budget of 740,000 euros and a duration of two years, extendable for another two more.

This is how it appears in the Public Sector Contracting Platform (contrataciondelestado.es), where interested parties can consult both the technical specifications and the administrative clauses.

The deadline for submitting offers is now open and will last until October 31st.

Some technical problems in the specifications, already corrected, made it necessary to review the documentation and stop the procedure, now restarted to ensure all the guarantees in the tender."It is a very important step for the municipality and the care of the animals," said the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for the Health area, Manuel Padín, who stressed that the objective is that this year it is already awarded and the concession company can begin to act in the municipal facilities of La Asomada. The mayor has highlighted some novel aspects of the new tender compared to the previous one, in order to adapt it to the new Law 6/2017, although since its entry into force the current concessionaire was already applying its regulations to the current contract.

Thus, the new specification includes greater control over the feline colonies of the municipality by incorporating the CES protocol (Capture, sterilization and release) at the request of the technical director of the contract, the pest control service and the municipal Health service.

In this sense, the councilor has asked and will request "the absolute collaboration of all animal defense groups to develop feline colonies."In addition, the center's hours will be extended, which will be open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m.

and from 4:00 p.m.

to 8:00 p.m.

On Saturdays the facilities will serve the public from 10:00 to 13:00.Finally, among other novelties, the statement incorporates the need to reduce the time to attend urgent services and on-site clinical care of animals who are victims of abuses.
