The PCAN asks Health to fulfill its promise of free television in hospitals (24/09/2020)

| Two years ago the Regional Assembly unanimously approved the free television and Wi-Fi to make the stay of the sick more bearable | Lack of commitment in difficult times.

The Cantonal Party of Cartagena demands that the Ministry of Health execute the initiative of television and free Wi-Fi in public hospitals as soon as possible, which had the consensus of all the parliamentary groups of the Regional Assembly two years ago.

The PCAN considers that at present, with these health centers on the verge of collapse due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, it is time to comply with a measure that would make the stay of the sick in the rooms of the Santa Lucía less unpleasant.Covid-19 is more serious in elderly patients who, due to the small amount of their pensions, have greater difficulty when it comes to paying the current pay TV in hospitals.

In addition, due to their isolation, they require greater facilities so that entertainment in front of the small screen does not cost them an arm and a leg every day.

In this sense, a free Wi-Fi connection, as is already the case in many public buildings, would also result in a more bearable stay given the impossibility of contact with anyone. For the Cantonal Party of Cartagena, this proposal is necessary for all those admitted without distinction.

Although, at present, it makes more sense due to the special circumstances of the large number of coronavirus patients who occupy the rooms of hospitals in strict confinement that prevents the increase in infections to the rest of society.
