The return to Spain for Diabetes will pass through Cartagena (16/09/2020)

The DiabetesCERO Foundation and the Madrid Diabetes Association promote the “Kilometers for Diabetes” challenge.

A Virtual Tour of Spain (3,913 km) that started on September 12 from Écija (Seville) and will end on November 14, World Diabetes Day, in Madrid and will visit 17 Spanish cities, headquarters of ZERO Diabetes Delegations ; among which is CARTAGENA.Among the objectives of this interactive challenge is to promote research for the cure of diabetes, diabetes education and promote healthy lifestyle habits through sports; as well as transferring to the health, local, regional and national authorities a manifesto signed by more than 20 associations of patients with diabetes throughout the national territory.In addition, this initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, Agenda 2030, which pursue equality among people, protect the planet and ensure prosperity.

Each of the cities on the tour will commit to one of the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda.From SODICAR and the Delegation in Cartagena of the DiabetesCERO Foundation we launched an invitation to the entire population to join the challenge by acquiring their "number" at: www.kilometrosporladiabetes.orgABOUT US?Diabetes ZEROWe are a foundation made up of parents of children with type 1 diabetes, adults with type 1 diabetes, and scientists who work for a world without type 1 diabetes.We finance scientific projects for the cure of type 1 diabetes.Currently our NGO consists of 17 delegations spread throughout the national territory and we are the 7th Spanish foundation in the ranking of RRSS.DiabetesZERO believes in scientists.

Scientists investigate so that society has a better quality of life and it is society that must claim and support research.SODICATESODICAR is a self-help association made up of volunteers: people with diabetes or parents of children with diabetes.It is a non-profit association established in May 1983 and declared of Public Utility by the Ministry of the Interior in 2008.Our fundamental aim is to improve the quality of life of our group.

For this we carry out, among others, training, educational, emotional support, awareness, prevention and early detection activities; in addition to promoting research.
