In this way, the daily cleaning services have been reinforced since this Monday, September 14, with an additional adjustment of more than 3,200 hours per month to guarantee the disinfection and cleaning of the toilets and common areas of the centers twice in the morning , to which are added the tasks that have been carried out in the afternoon shifts. This was pointed out this Monday by the Councilor for the Education area, Irene Ruiz, at the opening of the school year, which she has carried out virtually due to the health situation and in which she has reached out to the entire educational community of the municipality from Cartagena at the beginning of the course.

"Much courage and strength, you can count on our unconditional support," he remarked. Thus, the mayor has recalled that, since the end of the face-to-face educational activity in the municipally-owned centers, the Department of Education has carried out the disinfection and cleaning of the Early Childhood, Primary and Special Education centers, adapting the protocols to the indications of the health and educational authorities, as well as to the Contingency Plans.Specifically, in recent weeks, in addition to the intensification of disinfection and cleaning tasks, the janitors have collaborated with the management teams and teachers in the removal of furniture that made it difficult to distribute tables for students established with the new normality of the classrooms and in the marking of the itineraries within the educational centers, for the access of the students when they return to the teaching activity. In addition, the council has collaborated with the educational centers to provide them with new units of soap dispensers and hand-drying paper to be located in the toilets, with the aim that they have the necessary hygiene units to guarantee the safety of the students.

and female students.

Specifically, they have been equipped with 155 gel dispensers, 290 towel racks, 262 bins and 554 rolls of hand drying paper. On the other hand, during this month of September, improvements have been made to the schools' online incident program with the aim of making communication between schools and the council as fluid and direct as possible.

Thus, "the management teams will be able to communicate in an agile way, those investment needs that they consider necessary for their centers, and from the Department of Education we will try, as we usually do, to mediate before the Department, in the execution of demands of investment in the schools of Cartagena ”, has assured the councilor. This same online incident management application will allow management teams to know how the maintenance tasks of their schools are evolving in real time.Irene Ruiz wanted to value, in a message sent to the management teams, the "effort, commitment and responsibility" of teachers.

"You have been able to rise to the occasion of the entire educational community, without exceptions: you have adjusted your responses to the instructions set by the educational and health authorities at all times," he thanked. In turn, it has shown the commitment of the entire Department of Education with teachers and management teams.

"We have offered all the resources that we had within our reach, but we know that the ideal situation does not exist and that is why we have asked the Regional Government for help so that it has the city councils and we can receive some economic contribution with which to respond to your demands", has remarked.A response that will be guaranteed with collaboration between the different government areas.

"We are working in a coordinated manner between all the councils of the Cartagena City Council so that the beginning of the school year is as safe as possible", concluded the mayor of Education.
