The City Council collaborates with Health against the breaking of quarantines for economic reasons in Barrio de Peral (24/08/2020)

| Health technicians have detected an increase in infections in the area that could be related to poor monitoring of health instructions by people with work problems | Professionals from the municipal Social Services will collaborate with the Health Ministry to prevent people from circumventing the quarantines against COVID19 for economic or social integration reasons.

This collaboration will begin in the Peral neighborhood and its surroundings, after Health technicians have detected an increase in infections in the area that could be related to poor monitoring of health instructions by people with work problems, as reported by the vice mayor and head of the social care area, Noelia Arroyo. In a technical meeting held this morning of August 24, collaboration mechanisms have been established that will allow the joint work of both administrations.

Municipal workers will mediate with the people and groups that Health has identified as possible contacts of the infected to offer them financial aid that will allow them to stay away from their jobs and continue the isolation.“It is essential to break the chains of contagion that may be occurring because there are people who continue to go to work despite being infected.

This is what may be happening between some residents of the Barrio de Peral and its surroundings.

That is why Salud has decided to launch a specific campaign to collect PCR tests in that area and we are going to work together with them so that no one needs to avoid the tests or break isolation for fear of losing their source of income ”, said Arroyo. The vice mayor has insisted on the importance of the population of Barrio de Peral collaborating with the health authorities to cut off any means of community transmission.

"The experts have decided that the best way to tackle this situation is to work from within the neighborhood and I am sure that they will have all the collaboration of the neighbors because it is about everyone's health."Arroyo has reported, in addition to that Social Services employees will work together with the associations in the area so that information on aid and the importance of following health instructions reaches people and families with fewer resources or with integration difficulties .
