MC claims the BIC declaration for the Cerro del Molinete (16/08/2020)

| Giménez Gallo: "We seek to guarantee that any action carried out on the slopes of the hill is a subsidiary of archeology, compared to the Arroyo and Castejón plan, which is to urbanize the hill and cover his vision "| Given the recently appeared news about the sale of plots in the Cerro del Molinete, MC has demanded that the Ministry of Culture process the protection of said hill as a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in the category of 'Archaeological Zone'. For the councilor of MC Cartagena, Jesús Giménez Gallo, the Cartagena formation "does it to guarantee that any action carried out on the slopes of the hill is a subsidiary of archeology and with the intention of making it become a true park archaeological, in which its important remains of more than two thousand years coexist with a space of recreation of the XXI century ". According to Giménez Gallo, "this protection is necessary because after pretending that they accepted José López's proposal to respect the environment of the five hills, Arroyo and Castejón's plan is to urbanize the hill and cover their vision, as confirmed at the meeting of 'Casco Antiguo' held on July 31 ". "Its intention is to sell, with comfortable payment and construction terms for the developers, the plots on the hillside in order to prevent their enjoyment, and even their vision, definitively," emphasizes the mayor of MC. In addition, he adds that "if this protection is not granted, in the same request prepared by my partner, Councilor María Dolores Ruiz, we demand a master plan for the actions in Molinete and Monte Sacro, which guarantees the logic of its future developments from respect for the wealth of heritage, the configuration of the classic city and the needs of recreation areas that revitalize the old town ". "All this must be accompanied by the suspension of the sale procedure.

And it is that Arroyo, Castejón and Padín do not cease to surprise by their empathy with the private company and their contempt for the public interest", concludes Giménez Gallo.
