Thus, the controls and monitoring this weekend have led to a total of 40 complaints for not wearing the mask or for misuse of it.These sanctions are in addition to the 427 filed since last July 13 the mandatory nature of wearing a mask in public spaces was decreed, regardless of whether the safety distance can be guaranteed, so the total amounts to 467 complaints for this reason .In addition, the Local Police of Cartagena has filed 9 complaints for alcohol consumption on public roads, which brings the total figure since the beginning of summer to 56 penalties for encounters, mainly between young people, who are detected to consume alcohol At night, events that have been increased this summer due to the closure of many leisure venues due to the Covid-19 pandemic or the advance of closing time at 2 in the morning.Not respecting the closing time of the premises is another reason why the agents have imposed sanctions.

Specifically, during this weekend three complaints have been processed for this reason, in addition to the 18 registered since the beginning of the summer.Likewise, during the month of July and the first days of August, 22 complaints were processed for breaches of security measures in nightstands and terraces, something that has not occurred during the weekend.The Councilor for Public Roads and Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Torralba, has stressed the importance of respecting the security measures decreed to prevent contagion by Covid-19 and has recalled that Local Police agents are carrying out scrupulous follow-up work to detect violations, such as concentrations of young people who exceed the limit of 15 people to drink on the street.“These actions can carry fines of up to 600 euros.
