| The new UPCT double degree program covers all its places in the first enrollment phase | 1.August.2020.- Six hundred twenty new students have enrolled at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) after the publication of the first list of admitted students, 23% more than after the same process the previous year.
The increase is the most notable in recent years, in which scientific-technological vocations had decreased throughout Spain.The enrollment process will continue in September and the data may still vary greatly, although it is noteworthy that 85% of those already enrolled in the UPCT have done so to the degree they chose as the first option.The novelties in the UPCT training offer have been especially well received by pre-university students.
The joint program of double degrees that the UPCT premieres next year has completed in the first phase of enrollment all the places available for those who are studying Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design at the same time, a joint program for which they may also be admitted some of the students who are currently on the waiting list.Precisely, the other novelty of this enrollment phase has been the new degree in Engineering in Industrial Design and Product Development, which has also managed to cover 80% of its positions in the enrollment period that ended this week.
Even higher, 83%, is the percentage of places covered in the degree in Industrial Technologies.Compared to last year, the degrees that have registered the greatest increase in enrollment are those of Electrical Engineering, Fundamentals of Architecture and Civil Engineering, which have doubled their enrollments.
They have also grown more than 15% in Industrial Electronics, Mechanics, Agri-Food Engineering, Industrial Technologies and Mineral Resources and Energy Engineering.At the end of August, on the 28th, the second list of admitted in the titles with available places will be published and the registration will be carried out, in the process of appeal, during the first days of September.
Subsequently, the extraordinary EBAU call will be held and a new pre-registration and enrollment phase will begin.
