Registration opens for the course "Cultural Heritage of Cartagena: News and Future Projects" (29/07/2020)

| UPCT 2020 University Extension Course to be held from October 19 to 21 in the auditorium of the Roman Theater Museum in Cartagena | The Roman Theater Museum in collaboration with the UPCT 2020 University Extension Courses has organized a course on Cartagena's Cultural Heritage: News and Future Projects, to be held from October 19 to 21 in the Assembly Hall of the Museo del Roman Theater of Cartagena. The course will focus on the Cultural Heritage of Cartagena, including the Archaeological Heritage that has undergone a profound transformation in recent decades, the increase in the number of interventions parallel to the development of research has resulted in the location and study of some of the most relevant buildings of the ancient Carthaginian and Roman city, such as the Punic wall, the forum, and especially the Theater, which has become one of the most emblematic monuments of the city.

To this is added important advances in the research, dissemination, rehabilitation and enhancement of other cultural assets linked to military heritage or Modernism. Therefore, in this course we want to update the city's heritage wealth, as well as address some news and future projects, such as the Museum of the Roman Forum, Amphitheater or the Old Cathedral, taking into account that the Heritage Cultural and its presentation to the public constitutes a complex and dynamic process in permanent evolution, which requires multidisciplinary work.

That is why the course's teachers bring together archaeologists, historians, restaurateurs, urban planners and architects, all of them involved in heritage recovery projects.COURSE PROGRAMMonday October 199.00-10.30h: The Roman Forum Quarter and its Museum.
