The IV 10K Port of Cartagena Race donates 12,000 euros to the Pablo Ugarte Association to fight childhood cancer (28/07/2020)

The Port Authority has delivered this Tuesday, July 28, the solidarity check to the Pablo Ugarte Association, worth 12,000 euros, collected in the IV edition of the 10k Port of Cartagena Race, held in October last year and organized by the Port Authority of Cartagena, in collaboration with the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Spanish Navy, the Runtritón Sports Club and various sponsors.The president of the Port Authority of Cartagena, Yolanda Muñoz, has highlighted "the solidarity nature of the test that has allocated the benefits obtained in the last two editions to the Pablo Ugarte Association since it is an initiative that confirms the commitment of the Port for actions of social responsibility ".For her part, the deputy mayor and head of the Social Welfare area, Noelia Arroyo, has thanked the Port Authority for the work carried out with the municipality of Cartagena, both in the economic reactivation and in its commitment to solidarity with the municipality's social entities.

"In these moments of economic and social crisis, it is necessary to pull creativity and innovation to promote initiatives that continue helping those who need it most," and that is what the Port has done with the V edition of Carrera 10k Puerto de Cartagena.The Deputy Mayor has valued the work of the "Pablo Ugarte Association to care for people with cancer and their families and continue betting on research" and announced that this year the beneficiary associations will be the Parkkinson Association of the Cartagena region and the Alzheimer's Association, Afal Cartagena and Region.

"The work carried out by these associations is essential and serious difficulties have passed in this time, which is why they have been selected in this edition.

Two associations that during the health crisis have maintained the services they provide to families, reinforcing face-to-face care and telephone assistance, "explained Arroyo.However, this year the V Edition of the 10k Port of Cartagena will not be held in person due to the health crisis, only the shirt and mask designed in tribute to the Heroes 2020 will be put on sale, the people who have been in first line during the pandemic. SALE OF SOLIDARITY T-SHIRT AND MASKThe sale of the shirt, mask and other clothing will be made through the online store of the race.

Deliveries will be made by courier or may be withdrawn in person at La Pequena Moma stores.To encourage the purchase of this shirt, the photo contest Your Photos Run has been organized, where photos of runners from previous editions will be uploaded to social networks with prizes for various categories.
