Particulate pollution registers preventive Level 1 in the measurement station of La Aljorra due to the arrival of air masses from Africa (25/07/2020)

| The Department of the Environment has reported that this episode is expected to continue until July 27 | According to the Framework Protocol for Municipal Action in environmental episodes of NO2 and PM10 contamination, and based on their action levels, this Friday, July 24, Level 1 (Preventive) for particles was recorded at the La Aljorra measurement station.As reported by the Department of the Environment, the daily average yesterday at the aforementioned station was 54 µg / m3, which implies the registration of the Preventive Level 1 established in the framework protocol of PM10 and NO2.Apparently, this episode coincides with the arrival of air masses of African origin that affects the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands, and which is expected to continue on July 25, 26 and 27.As regards dust concentrations on the surface, they could be in the ranges 10-40 µg / m3 in the southeast and center of the Peninsula and the Canary Islands and 10-20 in the southwest, east and northeast of the peninsula and the Balearic islands.

Depending on the SKIRON model, dry dust deposit may also occur.
