The Trovo International Congress returns to Cartagena with its second edition (24/07/2020)

| The event will be held on November 5, 6 and 7 whose free registration can be done until August 30 | Cartagena recovers the Trovo International Congress with its second edition that will take place on 5, 6 and 7 November in the Assembly Hall of the Roman Theater Museum, organized by the Department of Culture with the collaboration of the Department of Tourism and the Trovera José María Marín Association.The presentation of the event took place this Friday, July 24, in the Assembly Hall of the Museum of the Roman Theater in Cartagena, and was attended by the councilor for the area of ??Culture, David Martínez, the delegate councilor for Culture, Carlos Piñana and the organizers and directors of the congress: Emilio del Carmelo Tomas Loba and José Sánchez Conesa.

As well as the president of the José María Marín Trovera Association, Juan José Garcia Parra.

Then a small sample was made with the singer, Juan santos Contreras `El Baranda´ and the guitarist Juan Ros Jiménez. The councilor for the Culture Area, David Martínez, explained that "the trovo is one of the most unique cultural manifestations that we have in Cartagena and that it has managed to maintain itself over time" while highlighting the work of the José María Marín trovera Association "creating that school of the trovo so that the new generations can know this art".For his part, the mayor delegate for Culture, Carlos Piñana, stated that "today is a very special day for the customs and traditions of Cartagena, because we recovered the International Trovo Congress in Cartagena, a historical event after its first edition was held 44 years ago, in 1976.

"In this sense, Piñana explained that the Department of Culture recovered this congress in order to "enhance and dignify a fundamental legacy for our city, such as the art of trovo".Through this II Congress, the aim is to "establish the lines of investigation of trovo, to know what has been done previously in the world of trovo, what the future holds for it, to have a forum for debate and, above all, to establish the bases to protect it and keep it, "said Piñana.The directors of the Congress and the president of the Trovera Association José María Marín have expressed their gratitude to the collaborating entities.

The director, José Sánchez Conesa, affirmed that the objective of this congress is for the trovo to arrive at the university so that lines of research on it can be developed, while highlighting the attractiveness of the trovo as a "tourist resource".

For his part, the director, Emilio del Carmelo Tomas, pointed out that what the congress intends is "to open doors to really make possible new fields for the trovo".INSCRIPTIONRegistration can be done through the congress website, where you can download the registration document at www.congresotrovocartagena.es which will be active in the coming days.Enrollment is completely free, whose deadline will be August 30, and the date for the submission of the researchers' proposal will also be Sunday, August 30.COLLABORATORSThe collaborating entities of this II Trovo International Congress are: the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), the University of Murcia (UM), the National University of Distance Education (UNED), the anthropology magazine of the University of Murcia, the Murcian Society of Anthropology, the Caja Murcia Foundation and ISEN.
