Cartagena Negra returns in September (07/07/2020)

| The Black Literature and Mystery Days of Cartagena Negra will take place from September 10 to 12 and will be held in a reduced format due to COVID-19 | The days of Cartagena Negra will take place between September 10 and 12.

The event, organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, is structured around the two novel awards that it summons and whose finalists, who were recently announced, will go to the city to hold meetings with readers before the proclamation of the respective rulings. The finalists of the II Icue Negro Prize that will visit the municipality are: Jon Aramendía Huarte, Pedro Aranda, Eduardo Oller and Lucía Santamaría Nájara.

On the other hand, the finalists of the IV Cartagena Negra Prize will also attend: Domingo Villar, Daniel Fopiani, Claudio Cerdán, Inés Plana and Marto Pariente."Special importance has been given to conversations with the author, so that the reader who wishes will have the opportunity to meet, in a more individualized way, three figures of the black genre such as Paco Gómez Escribano, Susana Martín Gijón or Rafa Melero", explained the councilor for the area of ??Culture, David Martínez.Another fundamental pillar of the festival is the comparison between reality and fiction, with the live broadcast of the radio program 'El pais de los horrors', by Elena Merino and with the participation of Manuel Marlasca, Alfonso Egea and Beatriz Osa .Although there are some regular activities that are not going to take place this time, such as black short film or live micro-story contests, the organizers have wanted to keep the sessions, in this reduced format, aware of the need for the public to recover cultural events after these months of confinement. All activities will be carried out at the El Batel Auditorium, the regular venue for the conference, thus ensuring compliance with all the necessary measures regarding health safety.

The organization wants to thank the Cartagena City Council for their willingness to continue this conference this year, and the collaborators for their involvement in them: El Batel Auditorium, Los Habaneros Hotel, Salazones Ricardo Fuentes, La Opinion Newspaper, Network of Municipal Libraries of Cartagena, Santos-Ochoa Bookstore, Bodegas Juan Gil and CaféLAB.
