| In total, the Department of Urban Planning currently has 24 records of the processing of homes, premises and garages in lots and buildings in the historic center of Cartagena | The Old Town of Cartagena is being targeted for investments by different construction companies.

The Department of Urbanism already has 24 records of the processing of homes, premises and garages in different plots and properties of the historic center of the municipality.

Of these 24 files, 14 have already been granted licenses and ten are pending.“These files will involve the construction of more than 300 homes and apartments as well as commercial premises and garage spaces.

It is a joy to see that our commitment to the comprehensive recovery of the Old Town is working, ”said the mayor and councilor for the Urban Planning area, Ana Belén Castejón.Castejón has also explained that “the momentum that the government team is giving with the Comprehensive Recovery Plan for the Historic District is making numerous companies dare to invest in the area, revitalizing it and making it more attractive.

Proof of this is that of the 24 files, 22 belong to different companies ”.For their part, nine are aimed at the rehabilitation of old buildings and the rest are aimed at new construction.

In addition, four of them will be apartments focused on tourism. It should be noted that almost half of these files will involve the construction of plots in more deteriorated areas of the Old Town or are intended to rehabilitate buildings in areas such as Andino Street, San Diego Street, Cuatro Santos, Subida de San Diego, San Vicente or Doctor Tapia Martínez. The mayor of Urbanism has added that "the majority of the works are going to be carried out on plots or very deteriorated buildings, which will also improve the image of the center of our municipality".Castejón has underlined that "the City Council of Cartagena has not stopped working for a moment and we demonstrated this during the State of Alarm, when we decided to lift the suspension of deadlines in the processing of urban planning procedures in the municipality.

We have always been clear that for the citizens and for the local economy it is very important that the administration does not stop.
