From the local leadership of IU-Verdes Cartagena, through its Coordinator, Diego Mendoza have expressed the rejection of the behavior of some residents of Los Nietos, calling it xenophobes.
The events that occurred in Los Nietos, where a group of recently arrived immigrants in Patera, were going to spend the period of confinement in an NGO house, although they did not give a positive result in the tests carried out when they arrived, a group of neighbors gathered in the entrance of the house to utter all kinds of insults.
The civil guard had to act, protected them from the outrage of the neighbors while they got on the bus that would transfer them to another part of the Region. Diego Mendoza continues "we reject the xenophobic attitude of these neighbors, who we suppose do not act in the same way when it comes to foreigners from other countries in the north of our continent." Finally, from the left-wing organization we also regret the attitude of the president of our Community, López Miras, who tries to justify his political ineptitude, accusing only the government delegation and moving away from a topic for which he and his advisers are also responsible.
