| The Governing Board approves a collaboration agreement with the ITREN for its signaling and maintenance, as well as aid to the cultural sector amounting to 344,000 euros and for the adaptation of women's associations to the coronavirus | The Local Government Board, meeting this afternoon under the chairmanship of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has approved the cooperation agreement with the Murcia Institute of Tourism (ITREM) for joint development and promotion with the Cartagena City Council of the Eurovelo cycle route.As explained in the proposal of the councilor for the Tourism Area, Manuel Padín, it is the section of the Mediterranean Cycle Tour Eurorruta that runs through the municipality of Cartagena and that connects Cádiz with Athens.

The objective is to consolidate the region and Cartagena as a bicycle tourism destination, a product that has great growth potential and allows the tourist season to be prolonged, while being respectful of the environment.The route layout runs, according to the indications of the Regional Assembly, along the coast, connecting with Andalusia through Eagles and continuing through Mazarón and Cartagena to San Pedro del Pinatar, from where it heads towards Murcia to connect with Orihuela through the mota del río Segura, connection point set with the Valencian Community.The municipality of Cartagena arrives by Tallante towards Perín, Canteras, Tentegorra, Puerto, Plaza de Bastarreche, Portmán, Atamaría, Los Belones, Los Nietos and Los Urrutias.Through this agreement, cooperation formulas are established for a period of four years, aimed at signaling the layout, its maintenance and promotion, by the Cartagena City Council and the ITREM.Eurovelo is a European network of 15 long-distance cycling routes promoted by the European Federation of Cyclists (ECF), and coordinated in Spain since 2017 by the National Coordination Center Eurovelo - Spain, of which the Tourism Institute of the Region is a part.

de Murcia (ITREM).SUPPORT TO THE CULTURAL SECTORIn another order of things, the Governing Board has approved a budget amendment transferring items amounting to about 290,000 euros to be used for concerts of music bands and cooperative groups, summer cultural programs, performances of local theater groups and activities to help the culture sector, very affected by the coronavirus crisis.Likewise, the bases of the call for subsidies have been approved to support the financing of projects of the music bands and musical associations of the municipality of Cartagena and their music schools through the competitive competition procedure.

Through this call, aid will be awarded that will total 54,000 euros.AID TO WOMEN'S ASSOCIATIONSLastly, and among other issues, another budget modification of 10,000 euros has been approved for municipal women's associations in order to favor the investments they have had to make to adapt their premises and activities to security measures to avoid contagion of coronavirus.
