Rescued and transferred to the hospital a minor who could not get out of the water where he was bathing, a rocky area near Cala Cortina, in Cartagena.1-1-2 received, at 16.12 hours, calls reporting the accident.

The callers said they were near the old coastal batteries of San Isidoro and Santa Florentina, near Cala Cortina.

Patrols of the Local Police, Civil Guard, Port Police, firefighters and personnel of the Fire Extinguishing Service and Salvage and Civil Protection of the City of Cartagena were mobilized to the place with land vehicles and a rescue boat and a Mobile Emergency Unit (UME ) of the Management of Urgencies and Sanitary Emergencies 061.

It is the circumstance that a yellow level meteorological warning is in effect due to a storm on the coast (strong southwest wind and waves of up to 3m.).Upon arrival, the injured minor had been rescued from the water by another minor.

Both had to be attended by the UME restrooms.

The one who had fallen into the water (male, 13 years old) with symptoms of drowning and contusions, although conscious and oriented, was transferred to the "Santa Lucía" hospital in Cartagena.
