| The members.

who have continued to carry out activities in a virtual way, consider that, at a general level, they have had enough information about the coronavirus and understand the measures that have been taken to prevent infections | The members of the Municipal Council of Childhood and Adolescence of Cartagena have carried out an assessment of the health crisis that has been going on since March and, among the conclusions, they indicate that, at a general level, they have had sufficient information about the coronavirus, from mostly from news on the news, the internet and that provided by their families, specifically by their parents.

In this sense, they include the measures that have been taken to prevent infections such as confinement and hygienic measures. This and other data have been obtained after participating the representatives of the Council in two surveys in order to know how the situation generated by COVID-19, and the consequent end of face-to-face activities such as classes or sports activities and Leisure, as well as the limitation of movement and relationship, have influenced their personal and emotional situation. Thus, the study continues, on an emotional level they highlight that confinement has caused them feelings of sadness, overwhelm or boredom, since the radical cut in their routine and daily activity, and the consequent adaptation to a new and unexpected situation, has led to the acceptance of it and the need to establish different habits and routines.

They also point out that as the days went by they have managed to adapt to the situation and improve their mood, feeling calm and motivated when they understand that the effort made by all of society has had an impact on improving the health situation.Something that has marked them especially is to continue their studies on a virtual level.

In this topic they point out that although they have not had problems accessing school assignments, they have generated a lot of burden, since the understanding of contents and explanations of activities and tasks is not the same at the face-to-face level as virtual, and this has involved a lot of investment of time per day in carrying them out.Although they have had the support of teachers so that everyone can access their homework and work plan, it should be noted that some minors have had difficulties due to problems with internet connection, as well as a lack of devices such as computers or tablets at home, especially in the case of large families with several children of school age.At leisure, during confinement, the activities carried out by the members of the Council for Children and Adolescents have been fundamentally: doing sports at home, watching movies, reading, drawing, playing, watching television, listening to music and playing online. They stand out positively as they have been able to enjoy in many families the realization of common activities such as cooking together, board games or watching movies, something that previously did not happen.Being connected prior to confinement with friends and family through WhatsApp and social networks has allowed them to maintain communication with them during this period, not feeling isolated and incommunicado, although logically they have thrown much in You are missing being with your friends physically. At the family level there have been no major aspects to highlight, but confinement, with the obligatory and prolonged coexistence, especially referring to large families where they have had to share little space for a long time, together with other elements such as loss of work for their parents, it has generated some family tensions. As the Council of Children and Adolescents of Cartagena show their conviction that the effort to be confined to fight the coronavirus was necessary, they understand that this collective effort was necessary, uniting us as a society and enabling all of us to fight for the same objective. The Council is a child and youth participation body linked to the UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Program, which has a total of 30 participants between the ages of 8 and 17, within which there is diversity in multiple aspects.

Its representatives, during the period of confinement, have remained actively linked to the Council, maintaining the group connection and carrying out various activities virtually.
